Whether you are going back to high school, college, or just looking for new fall clothes, now is the time to take advantage of the back to school sales at Polaris Fashion Place! I’ve teamed up with Polaris to put together a couple of looks for back to school. While getting your shopping done at Polaris Fashion Place, don’t forget to stop by JC Penny and participate in United Way’s Buy One Give One Apparel Drive to help Delaware County children with all their back to school needs.  Everyone deserves to go into the school year with confidence and feeling good!

Throughout the next couple of days, I’ll be posting full outfit details and the breakdown in pricing. I had fun mixing different styles to give you a couple of different looks. When shopping for back to school the trick is to find items that can be worn multiple ways and throughout the school year. Look for sales on core items, like jeans and jackets, these are items that you can wear in the years to come and won’t go out of style.

Nothing is better than finding a dress that work for multiple seasons. A piece that transitions helps you save money and space in your closet. Plus, there is a good chance you can find fall dresses on sale in November that would be perfect for the winter when layered. Look for pieces that you can either wear by itself or something that can be layered. Recently I found this maroon tunic by Roxy in Hawaii and loved it for a couple of different reasons. The first is its’ color; I love the merlot color trend this year. Secondly, the fabric is a light cotton, which I usually run warm so this is nice and breathable during the warmer days and the cooler days when I have a jacket over it. And third, I can throw on tights, boots, a jacket and my casual fall dress turns into a work outfit for the winter. For a winter look more towards the darker colors to pair with it. The darker colors will turn the beachy tunic look more into a wintery dress.

Shopping for jewelry is fun to begin with and then when you know that part of your purchase goes towards a great cause, makes it even more enjoyable. That is why I’m excited to partner with Quinn Foster Designs to share with you what all they have to offer. Quinn Foster Designs believes in “paying our good fortunes forward.” They share the same passion their customers do of giving back to the community and making a difference. At the end of your shopping experience, you have the opportunity to choose from 8 philanthropic partners to donate 5% of your purchase to, as well as receiving 5% off your order. What a great way to give back! What I also love about this brand is that their jewelry is super affordable and offers a wide variety of pieces, making it perfect for all ages, styles, and personalities.

I love turtlenecks this season as well as statement jewelry, so I thought why not wear the two together!  One of my two pieces from Quinn Foster Designs that I am wearing is the beautiful gold statement necklace. It works perfectly in the folds of my turtleneck and lays just around the collar bone, bringing shine to the look. My other piece that I am wearing is the simple, yet striking tortoise bracelet. Once I received it, I haven’t stopped wearing it! It’s simple design, and soft color makes it a perfect bracelet to wear casually or dressed up. Jewelry in the colder weather can sometimes go unseen with all your layers and bulkier fabrics, so find pieces that act as the outer layer so you can show them off. Have fun with it and don’t be afraid to wear your jewelry differently.

It has finally started to drop in temperature, and I was excited to rock this merlot colored coat, from Shein that I bought over the summer. I love the trend this fall of merlot colored clothing for many reasons. 1) It matches all the beautiful fall leaves 2)Merlot gives your outfit a bold and sassy kick, just like the vino 3) It looks good in all shapes and styles, purses, coats, pants, scarves you name it. Plus I love wine :). I bought the coat as a “one size,” this can be awesome for online shopping, but can also get tricky. It makes it very easy to shop online because you don’t have to stress about figuring out your size, but it can get tricky because “one size” pieces aren’t tailored for a particular body type so are often baggy. Make sure to pair your “one size” coats with pieces that are more slimming, to help balance out your look. When you are putting an outfit together and need help balancing it out, go for black, it is one of the most slimming colors and will help give you shape.

From skinny jeans to these loose fitting “palazzo” pants, style is alway changing, and that is why I love it. Skinny jeans will always be in my wardrobe, but I have added a couple of palazzo pants this autumn. Although they are loose, when worn with heels and balanced out with a more fitted top, they can have a slimming effect. Shops are selling them in all different kinds of patterns and colors. I’d suggest finding a pattern that matches best with your wardrobe or going for a good old black pair. Now I’m on the shorter side, about 5’4, so I love pieces that give me a little height and make my legs look longer. When I paired these pants with about a 1 1/2 inch heel, it elongated my legs and gave the outfit a bit more of a flare. Confidence is key, wear clothing and trendy pieces with confidence and everyone will be saying “wow you can pull those off!” I’m a true believer that everyone can look stylish as long as they remember to wear clothing that fits your body type, are comfortable, and strut around like you are a million bucks.
