I’ve teamed up with Polaris Fashion Place to give you my Valentine’s day look and a couple of ideas for how you can spend the day with loved ones. Whether your loved ones are family and friends or a special someone, Valentine’s day is about being with who you love and having a good time.

The outfit that I put together for you guys is for a daytime date. It is more casual, comfortable for walking around and shopping, and has that pop of pink, just for fun ;).  The pop of pink, is my sweater from Banana Republic. It is a super warm mock neck sweater that is currently on sale! Paired with a necklace and an Express navy leather jacket. Express has this jacket in black and navy, but I thought I’d switch it up with the navy. Yes, I’m wearing white jeans in the winter, and I don’t care! These J.Crew high rise white jeans are a staple piece. Even though they are white, I always feel like white jeans add color to an outfit.

I’m also currently obsessed with this matte lipstick from Mac. I’ve accepted that bright red lipstick just doesn’t work for me, so this was the perfect shade of red and purple to give me bold Valentine’s day lips.

A day full of shopping at Polaris Fashion Place can get tiring, so my suggestion would be to head to California Pizza Kitchen, which happens to be one of my favorites, grab the Thai Peanut Crunch Salad and a glass or two of Pinot Noir.

Here are some other ideas to do while at Polaris:

  • A fun alternative is a chocolate and wine pairing at Bliss in a Bottle.
  • Grab a coffee from Starbucks, find a bench and enjoy creating fun stories about the other shoppers you see.
  • Chow down on delicious eats and grab a drink, then show your competitive side as you go head-to-head playing arcade games at Dave & Buster’s.
  • Enjoy relaxing together during a spa treatment at LK Salon or Nail Pro.
  • Pick out clothes for each other at Banana Republic, J. Crew, Brooks Brothers and the Gap.
  • Find a sexy scent you both like at Bath & Body Works, Lush, Aveda
  • Try out rings together at Kay, Farah, Andrews or Ashcroft & Oak Jewelers.
  • For an extra special gift, select something at La Senza or Victoria’s Secret.

While you are enjoying Valentine’s day shopping at Polaris, don’t forget to head to guest services to enter to win two contests currently going on. The Perfect Date Night, valued at $500, has your perfect date already planned, you would get tickets to the Ohio Theater, restaurant gift card, hotel room, and much more. Hurry this contest ends tonight at 11:59pm ET. The second contest to check out is Love Ties, supporting Salvation Army.

No matter what kind of Valentine’s day you are looking for, Polaris has plenty of options for all types of dates!

After many years of searching, I found myself a winter camel coat! No surprise here that it came from one of my favorite stores, Zara. The look of a camel coat gives your outfit a touch sophistication and the length provide extra warmth. I choose the style of this coat because of its’ structure; it is slimming and fitted. Winter coats can be hard to shop for; I usually am torn between warmth and not looking like a marshmallow. A fitted wool coat is a great option for looking stylish no matter the temperature. Another piece of this outfit that I’m excited to have found, my jeans. I found them at a local store in Columbus, Tigertree. They are good old fashion Levi’s. My very first pair of cigarette jeans were Levi’s, back in middle school. They were the only jeans I wore, and I wore them all the time! Darker jeans are my favorite because they also make your outfit look nicer and more sophisticated. Last but not least is my simple yet beautiful Chertova zodiac necklace. The simple design and choker like length make it perfect for everyday use and easy to dress up by layering it with other necklaces. Plus it has my horoscope on it, Pisces, which for those of you don’t know me I love sporting my zodiac sign. For timeless pieces, invest in ones that you know will last long, fit correctly, and have a hint of sophistication, these will last throughout the years no matter the trends.

This outfit is a combination of my vintage, thrift store, and bargains finds. The giraffe sweater I found on sale over the summer at Second Chance Consignment. I think the patched on giraffes are adorable and love how the top one create the outline of the neckline. The patchwork gives it the vintage personality that I admire. It is 100% wool, which is awesome for the winter, but my skin gets super itchy with wool. That is where my undershirt comes in, helps to create the layer between the wool and my skin. This denim button down top I found at Goodwill about a year ago and is my favorite undershirt, especially under sweaters. The denim makes that sweater/button down layered look more casual. Don’t let something unique scare you off, try pairing it with the basics in your closet and it will be a great accent to an outfit.

One of the appeals of the poncho is its’ simplicity and functionality. You know those days in the fall and winter when you think “man I wish I could just have a big blanket wrapped around me,” Well now you can! Ponchos are easy to style and will keep you nice and warm. I saw one of my friends wearing this Abercrombie and Fitch poncho and fell in love. The colors are great because they are earthy neutral colors and go with most of my current wardrobe. Below are some tips on how to rock that poncho this fall

1) Top: Wear a neutral color top underneath. Stick with the higher necklines, crew neck, mock neck, and turtlenecks.

2) Pants: Jeans are a perfect match. Skinny jeans for a casual feel and flare to embrace the 70s trend.

3) Shoes: Boots, Booties, flats, really all fall shoes work! Do whatever your preference is.

4) Accessories: Wear a skinny belt for more of a fitted look.

Shopping for jewelry is fun to begin with and then when you know that part of your purchase goes towards a great cause, makes it even more enjoyable. That is why I’m excited to partner with Quinn Foster Designs to share with you what all they have to offer. Quinn Foster Designs believes in “paying our good fortunes forward.” They share the same passion their customers do of giving back to the community and making a difference. At the end of your shopping experience, you have the opportunity to choose from 8 philanthropic partners to donate 5% of your purchase to, as well as receiving 5% off your order. What a great way to give back! What I also love about this brand is that their jewelry is super affordable and offers a wide variety of pieces, making it perfect for all ages, styles, and personalities.

I love turtlenecks this season as well as statement jewelry, so I thought why not wear the two together!  One of my two pieces from Quinn Foster Designs that I am wearing is the beautiful gold statement necklace. It works perfectly in the folds of my turtleneck and lays just around the collar bone, bringing shine to the look. My other piece that I am wearing is the simple, yet striking tortoise bracelet. Once I received it, I haven’t stopped wearing it! It’s simple design, and soft color makes it a perfect bracelet to wear casually or dressed up. Jewelry in the colder weather can sometimes go unseen with all your layers and bulkier fabrics, so find pieces that act as the outer layer so you can show them off. Have fun with it and don’t be afraid to wear your jewelry differently.
