I’m loving big bulky scarves this winter! Not only are they a chunk of color for your outfit, but also keep you extremely warm. With all the black and brown coats out there, a colorful scarf is just what you need to switch up your outfits. With stores setting their spring collections and winter still lingering around (unfortunately), now is the perfect time to get some winter accessories on sale. You’ll have the chance to wear them now and then store them away for next winter as well. Outfit breakdown below:

The brightness of the snow inspired me to put together pastels and live colorfully. I love all of these colors separately so why not wear them together. If you haven’t already noticed, Kate Spade is one of my favorite designers. Her pieces change throughout the seasons and years, but continue to “Live Color Fully”. The unique colors and simple designs are great because they last throughout the trends, match all outfits, and are beautifully made. This “Live Color Fully” idea begins the second you approach the store. The huge windows that display bright clothing, purses, sunglasses and gold script. Inside the store is a rainbow of unique colors shown through the product and the store’s decor. It is a happy, youthful, and clean feeling. Unfortunately my budget doesn’t allow me to shop there regularly, so I always keep an eye out for 50-75% off sales on, Kate Spade pieces that pop up in my local consignment store and treat myself every 3-4 years with an everyday purse. This way I get my fix in without having to dip into my savings. Outfit breakdown below:

Inspiration is all around, whether it is in the recent Vogue you are flipping through or the color combinations you are attracted to in an urban mural. Don’t get me wrong, I love scrolling through Instagram and pinterest looking at beautiful outfits and observing how people have styled them, but I find ideas other places as well. Old movies, art and history museums, gardens, architecture, and food are great ways to see how beautiful colors and textures have been mixed together. It doesn’t have to be the entire piece that you try to recreate in an outfit, it can be the bottom corner of a painting or the window pattern on a skyscraper. “Trains Across the Sea”, that I discovered off #expcols hashtag on instagram, got me thinking of creative lines, white and black contrast, and blues of the sea. After going to my closet and trying a couple different outfits, I was able to use my inspiration to create an outfit with creative lines and white and blue contrast. Next time you are out and about start looking around to see what you find beautiful, why it caught your eye and how can you interpret it into an outfit. Outfit breakdown below

I love a good bargain and this outfit shows it. Besides the two items that were gifted to me, The rest of the outfit was all thrifted and on sale. The Old Navy knitted shirt I’ve had since high school and wear it all year round. In the summer I’ll wear it as a bathing suit cover up and in the winter I layer it to look more like a sweater. My sisters have borrowed it a couple times as well 😉  so it has gone a long way for $10 on sale!

Many of these pieces have also been featured in other outfits earlier on in my blog. Wearing the same clothing doesn’t mean you have to be an outfit repeater, just find different items to wear it with and no one will know! Outfit breakdown below:
